Very rare museum jewelry from Spain, circa 1760, 18th century. Beautiful ear screws made of 18k gold with genuine Colombian emeralds.
The earrings come from a Swiss estate where the great-grandfather was a wine merchant in Spain and of good social standing.
 
The earrings have been tested for 100% authenticity by a gemologist in Zurich.
The ear screws can also be worn without pierced ears. They could be altered by a goldsmith into earrings. The twist lock was added later.
 
Very good age-appropriate condition. Beautiful emeralds with a very high probability of being from Colombia due to the colonialism of that time. Two small stones are missing, but it is not particularly noticeable.
